#Endbadgovernance: The protesters in Abuja have left the organizers to their fate on the sixth day.

The streets in Abuja are starting to fill up again as protesters appear to have halted further demonstrations. Our correspondent, who observed the situation in the FCT, reported that only Ene Obi, the former country director of ActionAid Nigeria, and Hauwa Mustapha were spotted holding a sit-in at the Moshood Abiola stadium on Tuesday.

Tuesday marked the sixth of the #EndBadGovernance nationwide protests due to hunger and hardship. Security personnel at the stadium reportedly prevented protesters from gathering in the designated area.

Journalists covering the demonstration were not permitted to remain outside the stadium.

Securities stated that they were enforcing a court order that confined the protesters inside the stadium. The two women who spoke with the media vowed to continue the sit-in until the ten-day demonstration ended. "Look at the president speaking to Nigeria. It was a completely empty speech. What are you telling us? Not even one of our demands has been met. And you are telling us to go to the stadium. We are already at the stadium. Let our children come," one of the organizers, Ene Obi, told journalists.

Obi continued, “The government that once fought against the removal of fuel subsidy is now using it to punish Nigerians by keeping petroleum product prices high."

"We are mothers. They are turning our children against us. Even the police and security agencies - which of them goes to a different market? Their money is useless. We are sitting here, and they tear-gas us. So many of them, I could give birth to them."

“The mothers in the land are suffering due to lack of employment. Many of our children have gone to school but are unable to find jobs. We demand an end to bad governance.”

They said you need to appoint one minister from every state. We don’t have a minister of state in the constitution. And they are even creating more seats for more ministers to come in.

“There are no signs from the government to show us that they can bring down the cost of governance.”

The development comes after days of violent protests in the nation's capital, with police firing tear gas at the protesters.
